Kraken Closes Office in San Francisco Due to High Crime Rate

Crypto exchange Kraken has just closed its headquarters in San Francisco due to the tense crime situation in the city. The statement of the company CEO Jess Powell has been published on Twitter by political observer Richie Greenberg.

Powell has retweeted the journalist’s post, however, he has not added any comment to it. The office that has been closed is the one located in 548 Market Street, in the central part of San Francisco. The statement reads:

“We shut down Kraken’s global headquarters after numerous employees were attacked, harassed and robbed on their way to and from the office.”

Kraken CEO has also criticized the District Attorney’s program.

Participants in the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit have made mention to the high housing prices as the reasons for the increase in crime as the average rent is about $3,000.
