BitGo Secures MiCA License from German Regulator

BitGo has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license from Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), allowing it to offer regulated digital asset services throughout the European Union.

This regulatory achievement marks a significant expansion for BitGo Europe GmbH, established in Frankfurt in 2023 as BitGo’s EU headquarters.

The entity already holds registrations in several member states, including Italy, Spain, Poland, and Greece. With the MiCA license, BitGo can operate across the entire EU under a unified regulatory framework.

“As a global leader in digital asset infrastructure, regulatory compliance is central to our business,” stated Harald Patt, Managing Director of BitGo Europe GmbH. “We are proud to have received our MiCA license from BaFin and look forward to supporting the growth of crypto adoption in Europe. This license highlights our commitment to the highest standards of security, transparency, and trust.”
