Dubai Will Accept Crypto for Government Services in Association With Crypto.com

Dubai will soon allow residents and businesses to pay for government services using cryptocurrency, thanks to a new partnership with the global crypto platform Crypto.com. This initiative aims to integrate digital assets into public finance on a large scale.

The Dubai Department of Finance (DOF) formalized this agreement during the Dubai FinTech Summit, with key figures such as Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of the Executive Council, and Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director General of DOF, overseeing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crypto.com.

This partnership aims to advance the Dubai Cashless Strategy by enabling government fees to be paid using cryptocurrency wallets. The technical infrastructure will allow Crypto.com to convert digital assets into dirhams and securely transfer the funds to DOF.
