Crypto Firm MoonPay Receives Approval from the UK’s FCA

Crypto company MoonPay has just been added by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to the register of registered cryptocurrency companies.

According to the notice on the regulator’s site, the FCA’s decision came into effect on December 9 and reflects the company’s compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.

The FCA has previously reported that 73% of cryptocurrency company applications are either withdrawn or rejected.

FCA Director of Markets Sarah Pritchard has said:

“This is the most significant figure that we have had.”

A subsidiary of US crypto exchange Kraken has earlier received approval from the British regulator.
