CoinCorner Will Allow Lightning Network Transactions Between Europe and Africa

UK-based crypto exchange CoinCorner has recently opened the possibility for users to send fiat transfers from the UK and the EU to Africa using Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.

Another platform, Bitnob, has acted a partner in the implementation of the Send Globally service.

The app allows users to send pounds sterling or euros (EUR) to Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana directly to their bank account.

CoinCorner client funds are converted to Bitcoin when using Send Globally and then sent through the Lightning Network to Bitnob, which immediately converts them into the appropriate local currency.

According to CoinCorner, the annual volume of transfers in the direction of these three countries (Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana) from the UK alone is about 12 billion GBP.
