UN Organization Accepts $2.5M Donation from Binance Charity

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has accepted a donation of $2.5 million in BUSD made by Binance Charity.

According to the organization, the funds will be used to provide humanitarian assistance to the families of refugees from Ukraine who were forced to leave the country due to the Russian invasion.

This is the very first stablecoin donation to the organization. The UNHCR has said that it is “another demonstration of the key role of cryptocurrencies in the collection of vital funds and the provision of humanitarian assistance” in connection with the war in Ukraine.”

The money will go to humanitarian, legal and other support for the citizens of the country.

UNHCR has said that more than 10 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes due to the Russian invasion.
