Compound Community Cuts Down Farming Rewards

The community of the landing project Compound has voted to halve the rewards in COMP tokens users receive for participating actively in the platform.

The proposal was approved by COMP holders on March 27 with about 883,476 votes in favor and 87,585 against.

According to the description of the initiative, most of the tokens received as a reward are immediately sold. As a result, the users of the protocol and COMP holders are “harmed”:

“The original purpose of the token reward program was to distribute the supply among Compound users. Although she was able to jump-start the project and encourage early adopters, the practice of farming COMP for profit has proven to be problematic.”
