Hackers Break Into Discord Servers of Bored Ape Yacht Club Project and Steal 200 ETH
Last Saturday, a group of hackers hacked into the Discord servers of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) project and placed phishing links in the communication channels.
According to sources, they manages to steal about 200 ETH (around $359,000) from NFT holders.
The attackers also posted malicious links on behalf of the founder of the Spoiled Banana Society (SBS).
This is not the first time hackers have stolen BAYC holders’ assets through phishing links in official communication channels. In April, attackers gained access to the project’s Instagram account and stole 765.3 ETH and 91 NFT from users.
BAYC co-founder, under the nickname Gordon Goner, has said Discord is not suitable for the crypto community, because its is insecure.
