Venezuela to Tighten Control Over BTC Transactions

The Venezuelan National Authority for Crypto Assets and Related Activities (Sunacrip) intends to strengthen its control over transactions with digital currencies, Bitcoin Insider has learned.

Thee agency reportedly intends to fight suspicious transactions performed using unauthorized crypto exchanges and fintech platforms. 

The document also provides incorporating several FATF directives into Sunacrip’s workflows to detect money laundering and terrorist financing schemes.

According to local media, the document has already been signed by the head of Sunacrip Joselit Ramírez. The investigation of the activities of unauthorized platforms is entrusted to the National Financial Intelligence Unit of Venezuela.
