Sparkassen Enters Crypto Market, Targeting Retail Investors by 2026

Germany’s Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe is making a strategic push into cryptocurrency trading, with plans to serve retail clients by 2026, Bloomberg reports.

The banking giant, previously wary of crypto risks, will offer bitcoin, ETH, and other assets through Dekabank, its crypto-experienced subsidiary.

The decision aligns with the EU’s MiCA regulations, which have encouraged traditional financial institutions to explore digital asset services.

The move could position Sparkassen as a key player in Europe’s evolving crypto-banking landscape.
