Poland Clamps Down on Crypto with New Licensing and Prison Time
Poland is getting tough on crypto. Lawmakers have approved a strict new bill that forces all crypto businesses to obtain a government license or face severe penalties, including fines up to $2.8 million and up to two years in prison.
The financial supervisor, KNF, will be the powerful new regulator overseeing the market.
The move brings Poland in line with EU standards but imposes some of the strictest national-level enforcement seen to date, signaling a major shift for the country’s crypto industry.
