Teen Hacker’s Breach of Crypto.com Exposed User Data
Crypto.com suffered a data leak after a teen hacker, Noah Urban, phished an employee’s account, a new Bloomberg report reveals.
Urban, part of the Scattered Spider gang, accessed personal user information before his eventual arrest by the FBI.
The exchange confirmed the breach affected a small number of people but stated customer funds were never at risk.
Urban pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for hacking 13 companies, closing the chapter on the previously unreported attack.
