LINE is making a major push into digital payments and Web3. Through its subsidiary LINE NEXT and in partnership with blockchain Kaia, the company unveiled “Project Unify,” a stablecoin superapp designed to compete with traditional cross-border payment rails.

By supporting a suite of Asian currencies and integrating key features like chat-based transfers and real-time rewards, LINE is leveraging its established messaging platform to capture a share of the lucrative remittance and digital payments market.

The move signals LINE’s strategy to evolve from a communication tool into a comprehensive financial ecosystem for its users.
