Metaplanet Inc. Announces Acquisition of 1,009 BTC for ¥16.48B; Holdings Reach 20,000 BTC

Metaplanet disclosed Monday the purchase of an additional 1,009 Bitcoin at an average price of approximately $111,068 per coin, for a total value of ¥16.48 billion ($112 million).

This acquisition increases the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 20,000 BTC. According to industry data from Bitcointreasuries.net, this cements Metaplanet’s position as the sixth-largest public company Bitcoin treasury globally.

The company also confirmed plans to raise up to ¥130 billion ($880 million) via a share sale to fund further Bitcoin purchases, aligning with its revised year-end target of 30,000 BTC.
