House Sets Crypto Regulatory Framework with Three Key Bills

The US House took a major step toward crypto regulation Thursday, passing the CLARITY Act (294-134), GENIUS Act (308-122), and Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act (219-210).

The bills aim to define market structure, stabilize stablecoins, and block a US central bank digital currency.

Republican leaders rallied support, framing the legislation as part of Trump’s pro-innovation agenda. However, intra-party debate over CBDC restrictions briefly delayed proceedings.

With bipartisan backing—particularly for CLARITY and GENIUS—the bills now move forward ahead of Congress’s August recess, setting the stage for potential Senate action.
