Crypto ETF Floodgates Set to Open as SEC Softens Stance

The SEC just dropped a major hint that a wave of crypto ETFs—from Solana and XRP to a Trump meme coin fund—could soon hit the market.

Last week’s 12-page guidance marks a turning point for the GOP-led agency, which has quietly paused enforcement cases, reshuffled its crypto team, and launched a rulemaking task force. Insiders say more streamlining is coming, potentially fast-tracking dozens of ETFs.

“The SEC is finally building the playbook for crypto funds,” said CF Benchmarks’ Sui Chung. Bitwise’s Matt Hougan was blunter: “The fact that we got any guidance at all is huge.”
