Thailand Proposes New Rules for Exchange-Issued Tokens
Thailand’s SEC is seeking feedback on regulations to let exchanges and insiders issue utility tokens—with a catch: mandatory disclosure of issuer ties to prevent market abuse.
The move follows a rollercoaster year for Thai crypto policy, including:
✔️ Tourist crypto payments (approved in May)
❌ OKX/Bybit bans (also May)
✔️ Tax breaks for licensed trades (June)
It also comes after the SEC’s 2022 insider trading case against Bitkub’s CTO, highlighting regulatory concerns.
