Bitcoin Reserve Bill Returns to Arizona House After Senate Reconsideration
Arizona’s Senate voted Thursday to revive HB 2324, a bill allowing the state to manage forfeited Bitcoin and other digital assets. The 16-14 vote sends the legislation back to the House, where it was previously rejected in May.
Under Senate rules, only a legislator who originally voted against the bill (in this case, GOP Senator Jane Shamp) could request reconsideration. The vote was mostly split by party, with just one Republican opposing it.
The bill now needs House approval before reaching Governor Hobbs. Arizona has been actively debating crypto legislation, including a recent push to make Bitcoin legal tender—though that effort stalled.
