Crypto Market Maker Wintermute Opens New York Office
Crypto market-making firm Wintermute has established its US headquarters in New York City, aiming to expand in a now more crypto-friendly environment.
The firm has appointed Ron Hammond, formerly of Ripple, as head of policy and advocacy, as announced on May 15.
Hammond, who previously served as senior director of government relations and institutional engagement at the Blockchain Association for nearly five years, will collaborate with regulators and industry stakeholders at both federal and state levels.
“With a more constructive regulatory climate in the US, we see great potential to foster responsible innovation and strengthen ties with policymakers and industry leaders,” Hammond stated.
