Decentralized Exchange CEX.IO Resumes Operations in the UK
Centralized cryptocurrency exchange CEX.io has recently resumed its operations in the United Kingdom.
This follows the platform’s temporary suspension in 2023, as it aimed to comply with the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) new Regime of Financial Promotions policy.
Rich Evans, the managing director at CEX.io, has stated that the exchange voluntarily paused its services for UK customers in October 2023. Evans added that the exchange took a cautious and responsible approach in reentering the UK market, ensuring compliance with the FCA’s requirements without cutting corners.
The UK’s regulatory landscape for cryptocurrencies has been constantly evolving, with new laws being introduced to clarify legal requirements and urge crypto companies to register, although the process has been slow.
