Hong Kong’s Spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Will Start Trading Next Week

On April 30, six spot ETFs based on cryptocurrencies will begin trading in Hong Kong following official approval from the city.

This includes three spot Bitcoin ETFs and three spot ether ETFs, provided by China Asset Management, Harvest Global, Bosera and HashKey.

Among the three issuers, China Asset Management has the largest presence, with over $55 billion in assets under management in mainland China and $3.6 billion in Hong Kong.

This move is seen as a significant step towards Hong Kong’s establishment as a digital-assets hub, although it is expected to attract less capital compared to crypto ETFs in the US offered by major financial institutions like BlackRock and Fidelity.
