Yuga Labs Will Release a Collection of BTC NFTs

Yuga Labs has announced the release of a new collection of Bitcoin-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs), dubbed TwelveFold.

This marks the firm’s first NFT collection to be released on the Bitcoin blockchain rather than Ethereum, and consists of 300 digital artifacts created by the company’s art team using 3D modelling tools, algorithmic construction, and high-quality rendering.

In order to participate in the upcoming auction of the collection, users are advised to use a non-custodial wallet and a “clean” Bitcoin address, as regular transactions may risk sending NFTs along with other assets.

The auction will take place this week and bids will only be accepted in Bitcoin. The Ordinals protocol, which allows the release of digital artifacts on the Bitcoin blockchain, has seen a surge of interest since its launch at the end of January 2021, with the number of Bitcoin-NFTs surpassing 200,000.

Litecoin developers have also created an analogous protocol, allowing the release of similar digital artifacts on Litecoin’s blockchain.
