Investments in Crypto Businesses Cut by Half in 2022

According to a study carried out by analytical firm CoinGecko, the collapse of Bitcoin in 2022 and the tightening of supervisory policies have weakened the investment attractiveness of the blockchain industry.

The study has shown that compared to 2021, capital investments in the crypto business over the past 12 months have fallen by more than 40% to $21.6 billion.

The lion’s share of these funds was attracted by companies in the first half of 2022, that is, at a time of relative stability in the market.

Toward the middle of last year, amid the collapse of the Three Arrows Capital crypto fund and the Terra ecosystem, investments in the industry began to fall at a rapid pace. For example, in the third quarter, companies were able to raise only $3.61 billion from investors.
