Hackers Attack BTC.com Mining Pool and Steal $3 Million

According to mining company BIT Mining Limited, hackers attacked the BTC.com pool it controls on December 3.

According to a press release:

“As a result of the cyberattack, certain cryptocurrencies were stolen, including assets of BTC.com customers worth approximately $700,000 and approximately $2.3 million belonging to the company.”

Representatives of the company have stressed that they had reported the incident to law enforcement agencies in Shenzhen (China), who launched an investigation on December 23.

The owner of the pool has added:

“Following the discovery of this cyber attack, the company has implemented solutions that improve protection against hackers. BTC.com is currently operating normally.”
