CFTC Head Says BTC and ETH Should be Treated as Commodities

According to the head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Rostin Behnam, Bitcoin and Ethereum should be included in the category of commodities.

This is not the first time that the head of the CFTC expresses this point. He is one of those US politicians who are against repression against the blockchain industry.

With his statement, Behnam has confirmed that it was his department that should deal with crypto regulation. Accordingly, the influence of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) should be minimized.

The head of the SEC, Gary Gensler, is ready to recognize Bitcoin as a commodity, but he opposes the inclusion of Ether and other altcoins in this category.
