Bitmain Begins Sales of its New ETH Miner Antminer E9

Crypto miner maker Bitmain has started selling the Antminer E9, which runs on the Ethash algorithm.

The ASIC miner is focused on Ethereum and Ethereum Classic mining and has a hashrate of 2.4 TH/s, a power consumption of 1,920W and an energy efficiency of 0.8 J/M.

According to the company, the cost of the device will pay for itself in 100 days of operation. It is estimated that Antminer E9 can replace 25 RTX 3080 graphics cards.

The miner was first announced last April. Since then, its specifications have changed without any official announcement from Bitmain. In particular, it was previously assumed the ASIC could replace 32 RTX 3080 cards, that it would have a hashrate of 3 GH/s as well as a power consumption of 2,256 W.
