JPMorgan: Tether’s Dominance is Negative for Crypto

JPMorgan analysts have raised concerns about the growing dominance of Tether in the stablecoin market, despite the overall increase in market capitalization.

According to the analysts, Tether’s lack of regulatory compliance and transparency makes it a riskier option compared to other stablecoins.

This concentration in Tether is seen as a negative for the stablecoin market and the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Regulatory risks are also a concern for stablecoin issuers, as different countries are implementing regulations for this type of digital currency. In the US, the Clarity for Payment Stablecoins Act is awaiting approval from Congress, while in Europe the MiCA regulation is expected to be partially implemented in June.

The analysts believe that stablecoin issuers who adhere closely to existing regulations have the opportunity to gain market share in the face of impending regulatory scrutiny.
