Israel’s Police Blocks Hamas-Linked Crypto Accounts
According to a statement released by Israeli police, authorities have frozen cryptocurrency accounts associated with Palestinian militant group Hamas following a recent series of attacks on Israel.
The police’s cyber unit worked with the defense ministry, intelligence agencies, and Binance exchange to seize the funds, which will be placed in the national treasury.
The move is part of a larger effort by Israel to target terrorist financing, with a previous lawsuit against Binance’s CEO alleging the company’s knowledge of “HAMAS transactions” on the platform.
Earlier this year, Israeli authorities had already frozen numerous Binance accounts connected to terrorist activities.
