Florida AG Challenges Robinhood’s Crypto Cost Claims in Industry-Wide Warning
Florida authorities have singled out Robinhood Crypto in what appears to be a broader warning to the cryptocurrency industry about pricing transparency.
The Attorney General’s office announced an investigation Thursday, specifically targeting Robinhood’s claims of being the lowest-cost crypto trading platform.
“While we support cryptocurrency innovation, companies must be truthful about costs,” said AG James Uthmeier.
The office has demanded Robinhood produce documents supporting its pricing assertions through a formal subpoena.
This action places Robinhood under scrutiny while potentially setting a precedent for how regulators evaluate cost claims across the rapidly growing crypto brokerage sector. Other platforms may face similar examinations of their marketing practices.
