SEC Ends Kraken Lawsuit

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has dropped its lawsuit against the crypto exchange Kraken, signifying a shift from the agency’s previous approach under former Chairman Gary Gensler.

Announced by Kraken on March 3, the dismissal—with prejudice—concludes what the exchange referred to as a “wasteful, politically motivated campaign.”

The case was dismissed without any admission of wrongdoing, financial penalties, or mandated changes to Kraken’s operations.

This decision removes the uncertainty surrounding the case and reinforces the notion that companies like Kraken, which emphasize compliance and consumer protection, should not be embroiled in arbitrary legal disputes.

A stable and predictable regulatory framework will promote responsible growth, attract investment, and ensure the US remains competitive in the global digital asset industry.
